YUME Devrambling #2 6/15/22
Happy Pride Month!
...I'm in summer school. It'll be a bit before I get to working on YUME again, let alone Dysthymia or any of my Scratch projects.
However, June is an important month for YUME! Not only has the game been in development for over a year now, it's pride month, and I can't think of a single cishet character in my video game.
It's really important that we respect the identities of others, even if we don't quite understand them. And to use everyone's preferred pronouns, even if we don't know why!
Every party member in YUME has their pronouns listed in the menu to avoid confusion, as many characters don't always present the way they identify, because they don't have to!
YUME's dress and pigtails are stereotypically feminine, and they like being referred to as a sister rather than a sibling, but they are non-binary, and exclusively use they/them pronouns.
Gender is not a black-and-white concept, and if you disagree, ...
don't play my game!
I thank you. YUME thanks you. 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
